Thomas Price, IT Services Manager

I have worked for Findel for over 11 years. I started off, what seems like a lifetime ago, as a Layout Artist within the creative team producing hand drawn scamps (not traces!!). Findel has supported me in progressing my career through roles such as Designer, System Super User, Technical Analyst, IT Business Analyst and into my current role. I have been very fortunate in my career and owe a great deal to the managers that have identified potential in me and supported my progression. Earlier this year I achieved my ITIL Expert accreditation (IT Service Management). Achieving this took a great deal of self-sacrifice, giving up evenings and weekends to study and took 2 years to complete. This achievement would not have been possible without the support from my managers and the L&D team at Findel.

Away from Findel I enjoy spending time with the family and getting dirty…  I’ve completed numerous muddy/obstacle runs from 10-26k over the last twelve months as part of ‘Team IT’.

Zoe Reuter, Head of Customer Service

I have worked for Findel Education since 1999 when I joined as a temporary Order Administrator whilst I was studying at University. I was so intrigued by the organisation that my dissertation was partly based around my experience there, and I have been part of the furniture ever since!

During my time here I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to hold roles within many different departments which has allowed me to develop my knowledge of the business, our processes and also build relationships within the different teams. Within Customer Service I worked my way up to become Customer Service Manager, then in 2006 I was seconded to a major systems project within IT. Following the completion of that project, I then took on the role of Operations Project Manager where I was responsible for various elements of Supply Chain Management and Operational Customer Service.

In 2010 we then recognised that as a business we needed to focus more on Customer Experience and I started this next and current part of my career within Marketing as Customer Operations Manager, before progressing to become Head of Customer Service in 2011. Since then we have become an award winning organisation beating some major businesses within the UK for some of the most prestigious awards. The latest being our UK Customer Experience Award for Business Change in October 2016, and I am proud to have been part of the team that achieved this.

I have seen a lot of change, including acquisitions, system changes, and different styles of leadership, and my time here has always presented new and exciting challenges, which means it is never dull. Within the Contact Centre we have a fantastic team of people, everyone always says it is the people who make this such a great place to work…. and it’s true.

Michael Meehan, Digital Marketing Executive

I first started my career at Findel in 2009 joining the Contact Centre on the School Customer Service Team. Since then I have worked in a number of different departments within the business including the Order Entry Team and Telesales.

In 2014 I was approached to join the Digital Marketing team due to the web courses I studied at Ashton Sixth Form College. Since making the move I have made significant steps towards a real career path in the digital arena.

The parts of the role that I enjoy most are designing HTML content for new web pages on each of our 9 websites, working closely with the brand teams and also studio to bring the ideas to life online. I’ve learnt that changing how a website looks can take time and sometimes a idea that works in print doesn’t alwasy translate online, so getting the right balance and consistency is a interesting challenge.

Emily Whylie, Accounts Receivable Manager

I joined Findel in 2007 as a temporary Credit Controller, it was a stop gap whilst I decided what I wanted to do.

I soon realised that I enjoyed the role I had taken on and wanted to expand my experience, so accepted a permanent offer.

Within a couple of years I was promoted to a Team Leader, then Credit Control Manager.  Then during a challenging, but exciting time I found myself heading up both Sales Ledger and Credit Control as Accounts Receivable Manager.

My time at Findel Education has been fast paced, exceptionally challenging, but also extremely rewarding.  I am fortunate to work alongside some fantastically driven and open people, that as a collective have made some remarkable changes that allow us to work in the business that we do today.

Michelle Burns, Telesales & Key Account Manager

I have worked at Findel for just over 11 years and have to say it is infectious. I started my career within the merchandising team and then in 2011 took a leap of faith, with encouragement from peers and colleagues and joined the Sales Department. Through great mentoring and support I have gone from Sales Support Executive to my current role of Telesales & Key Account Manager. I have been so lucky to have been supported on my journey so far at Findel Education and can honestly see myself growing old here!

Chris Gibson, Commercial Contracts Manager

Having spent 12 years in the office supplies industry in various sales roles within large international businesses, I joined Findel Education in January 2012 initially as a Business Development Manager. What excited me then and still does today is the ambition and passion this business has to be the best in class in everything we do. Whilst we are a relatively large organisation we operate in an ‘all hands to the pump’ approach, everyone in our business is accountable and contributes to our success.

In Findel Education we have a vast array of different roles whether you are customer facing in Sales or back office working in our IT Team, Finance or Buying Team. Regardless of where you work in Findel Education, looking after our customers is our number one goal and objective. This business has a great culture and we pride ourselves in looking after and supporting all our employees well.

My role is to retain, grow and win large contracts, I can only achieve this with the great support I have from my immediate team and everyone else from around our business. We truly operate as one large team with total commitment and passion to win and delight our customers.

When someone asks me what does your business do? My answer is…

Imagine turning a school upside down, we supply everything that would fall out (apart from the teachers, pupils and the food in the kitchen!) We support the education sector with a vast array of product and learning resources which support the education of children and students across the UK and Internationally.
